Kaela returned home from the Alpine German-Speaking Mission on March 3.  We are so happy to have her home.  Her homecoming talk will be on Sunday, March 20, in the Sharon East Stake Center at 9:00 AM.  Welcome home Kaela!

Look Who is Engaged!

We are so happy to have the first wedding in our family!  Jacob proposed to Sarah Jane while on a run up in Provo Canyon.  They will be getting married on June 10, 2011 in the Salt Lake Temple.  Congratulations Jacob & Sarah Jane!

Ouch....

David has been working a lot on the house.  Yesterday morning he was on the roof and it started to rain really hard.  I heard a big crash outside.  I went to the door and said, "Is everything okay?"  No answer.  I walked out on the deck and David was crumpled next to the ladder.  I kept asking him if he was okay and he was just groaning.  I saw blood, so I ran in to get a warm towel.  I went back out to see if I could help him get up, and he was getting himself in the house.  I mopped him up and saw that he had a pretty big gash in his forehead.  We decided that we better get him to Instacare to be stitched up.  We got him to Instacare and after taking his blood pressure and evaluating him they wanted to put him in an ambulance and transport him across the parking lot to the Emergency Room.  He refused.  We signed a waiver, and I said that I would transport him.  When we got out to the car he said he was walking... Yup, that's my guy.  I drove and he walked to the ER.  We got there about the same time.  We walked in to find a whole trauma team waiting for us.  Stitching him up was the last thing on their mind.  His heart rate was 43, so they were concerned about internal bleeding.  I think they performed every test they could think of.  He was ultrasounded, and xrayed from head to toe.  He had an EKG and a CAT scan. After almost three hours they decided to stitch up his head.  Besides a gash in his head and a broken tailbone, he is okay.  We decided that we are very very lucky.  It was one of those days that you really count your blessings.    Here is a picture.  He pulled the face to show it off just for me.

We are still alive!

I have decided to come back into the blogging world.  I have some new ideas, and have also started another blog about our family history.  The address for the other blog is http://meanderingthroughourroots.wordpress.com/.  Kaela is still on her mission and persevering through health problems.  She is currently helping in the mission office.  Here is a picture of our cute missionary.

Saying Goodbye

We took Kaela to the MTC on September 23. She has been there a month and is doing very well. She could bear her testimony in German and just a few days. Lucky me, I get to see her almost everyday! Here are some pictures of her last Sunday at home and saying good-bye.
